On November 1, 2013, Vons and some Southern California Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) local Unions joined in this Labor-Management carve-out program.

The proactive participation by local Unions and management creates a supportive environment for their employees and members that promotes expedited care through the workers' compensation process, and early resolution of disputes and claims. Support is provided to the employees and members by giving them a voice in the dispute resolution process, information and options on how to proceed.

The dynamic leadership at Vons, a self-insured employer, and the UFCW, has helped lead the way and continues to sustain and participate in the success of this program.
